Terms of Service

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Effective date:

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Nexora Tech Ltd (“Nexora”, “we”, “us”), which operates Ije and the website www.getije.com, together with related apps and services (the “Services”). You accept these Terms by ticking the box when you create an account, or by using the Services after we have shown you these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

If you use the Services for a community or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation. If the community is not a legal entity (for example, an informal savings group), you also accept these Terms personally as its Community Admin.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. It is separate from these terms and does not form part of the contract between us.

2. About Ije

Ije is a platform for communities to create groups, invite members, set shared goals, record scheduled contributions, and view transparent progress and reports. A “Community Admin” is a person who creates and manages a community. A “Member” is anyone else who joins a community.

Ije is a tool for communities. We do not run, supervise, or guarantee any community’s savings, contributions, or payouts. Those arrangements are between the Community Admin and the Members.

We may add, change, suspend or remove features from time to time. If a change would reduce what you can do in a way that matters, we will give you notice as set out in section 18. We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available or free of errors.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  1. (i)

    You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts under Nigerian law (or the law where you live).

  2. (ii)

    You must provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it updated.

  3. (iii)

    You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login details, invite links and codes secure. Notify us immediately of unauthorised use.

  4. (iv)

    One person may not operate multiple accounts to evade restrictions or abuse the Services.

  5. (v)

    We may ask you to verify your identity through a licensed verification provider, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not complete a check that the law or a payment partner requires, we may limit access to the features that need it.

  6. (vi)

    Ije is designed for use in Nigeria. If you use it from another country, you are responsible for following the laws that apply to you there.

4. Communities, roles and responsibilities

  1. (i)

    Community Admins create and manage communities, decide contribution amounts, schedules, rules and goals, invite or remove members, and are responsible for their community’s conduct. A Community Admin promises that they: (a) have authority to set up the community and, where relevant, to bind it; (b) have told members what information the community records and who can see it, and have a lawful basis for adding each member; (c) will collect only what the community has agreed with its members; (d) will keep the community’s activities lawful, including any registration or licensing the activity needs; and (e) accept our Community Data Terms, which set out how we process member information for the community.

  2. (ii)

    Nexora does not run, supervise, or guarantee any savings, contribution or payout arrangement. Those arrangements are between the Community Admin and members.

  3. (iii)

    Members join by invitation, agree to the community’s rules, and are responsible for their own contributions.

  4. (iv)

    Ije is a tool, not a party to the arrangement. Agreements between Community Admins and members (such as rotating savings payouts, cooperative rules, dues or pledges) are between those people. Nexora is not a party to, guarantor of, or arbiter in those agreements, and does not guarantee that any member will pay or any payout will be made.

  5. (v)

    Community Admins must comply with applicable law, including any registration, licensing or regulatory requirements that apply to their activity (for example cooperative society, non-profit or fundraising rules).

5. Not a bank or financial adviser

Nexora is a technology provider. It is not a bank, microfinance bank, payment service provider, deposit-taking institution, investment adviser, fund manager or insurer. Nexora does not receive, hold, pool or pay out members’ money. Contributions are processed by a Payment Partner, a licensed payment service provider, and move from the member directly to the account the community designates / a settlement account held by the Payment Partner. Nexora does not offer interest, returns or investment products. Information in the Services is for record-keeping and transparency only. It is not financial, legal or tax advice.

6. Contributions and payments

  1. (i)

    Ije offers savings features, including Circle Rotations, Growth Fund and Goal Fund. Each feature is governed by our Savings Terms, which you accept when you create your account and again when you first use that feature. The Savings Terms form part of these Terms. If they conflict with these Terms about a savings feature, the Savings Terms apply. Current rates, fees and tax treatment are set out on our Key Facts and Fees page. We will give you at least [30] days’ notice of any change that reduces your return or increases your costs, as set out in clause 17. Savings in Growth Fund and Goal Fund are held by ………………………….., a …………………. holder. Your savings relationship for those features is with ………………………….

  2. (ii)

    Payments are processed by third-party licensed payment providers and banks. Your use of them is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for their errors, delays or outages.

  3. (iii)

    We will collect a scheduled contribution only if you have set it up and approved it through our payment partner. Before the first collection we will show you the amount and date. You can pause or cancel a scheduled contribution in your settings before the next collection date. We will send you a confirmation each time a payment is taken.

  4. (iv)

    You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds and for any bank or provider charges.

  5. (v)

    Any fees will be shown, including taxes, before you pay. We will give at least [30] days’ notice of any fee increase. If you do not agree, you can close your account before the change takes effect.

  6. (vi)

    Contribution records in Ije come from payments made through Ije and from entries made by Community Admins. For a payment made through Ije, the confirmation from the payment provider or bank is the main evidence of what was paid, unless it is shown to be wrong. For a payment made in cash or outside Ije and recorded by a Community Admin, the record is the Community Admin’s record, and we cannot verify it.

  7. (vii)

    If you think a payment was made in error or without your permission, tell us at support@getije.com within [30] days of the payment. We will investigate with the payment provider and reply within [10] business days. Where the provider or we are responsible, we will correct the error or refund the payment.

  8. (viii)

    Contributions are generally non-refundable by Nexora once processed, and refund requests about a community’s arrangements should go to the Community Admin first. This does not affect your right to a remedy under the bullet above, or to a refund where the law requires one.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  1. (i)

    break any law or regulation, or use the Services for money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, or illegal fundraising or gambling;

  2. (ii)

    misrepresent your identity, your community, or what funds are for;

  3. (iii)

    collect or use other people’s personal data without their permission;

  4. (iv)

    upload unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, obscene or infringing content;

  5. (v)

    interfere with or disrupt the Services, probe for vulnerabilities, or bypass security;

  6. (vi)

    scrape, copy, reverse engineer, decompile or resell the Services except as the law allows;

  7. (vii)

    introduce viruses or malicious code, or send spam through the Services;

  8. (viii)

    use the Services in a way that could damage Nexora, its users or its partners.

  9. (ix)

    collect or use contributions for a purpose you have not told your members about;

  10. (x)

    run an activity that needs a licence or registration (for example deposit-taking, lending, or investment schemes) without holding it;

  11. (xi)

    publish, share or threaten to publish a member’s payment status or personal details outside the community, or use the Services to harass, shame or pressure members.

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement.

8. Your content and our licence

You retain ownership of content and data you submit (“User Content”). You grant Nexora a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process and display User Content only to provide, secure and support the Services and as described in our Privacy Policy. Where User Content includes personal data about other people, we process it as described in Clause 2 of our Privacy Policy. You promise that you have the rights needed to submit it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the law.

We may create aggregated and anonymised data from the Services that cannot identify you or anyone else (“Anonymised Data”). We may use Anonymised Data for analytics, research and product improvement. We will not try to re-identify it.

9. Intellectual property

The Services, including the Ije name, logo, software, design, text and graphics, are owned by Nexora or its licensors and protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services for their intended purpose. You may not use our trademarks without written permission.

If you send us feedback or ideas, you grant us a free, perpetual right to use them without obligation to you.

10. Third-party services

The Services may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as payment providers, WhatsApp, social media). We are not responsible for them, and your use is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Services available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operations. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with notice where reasonably practicable.

12. Suspension and termination

  1. (i)

    You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time.

  2. (ii)

    We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law or a regulator or payment partner, if we suspect fraud or misuse, or to protect the Services or other users.

  3. (iii)

    On termination, your right to use the Services ends. Clauses that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) will continue.

  4. (iv)

    Except where we must act immediately for legal, fraud or security reasons, we will give you at least [14] days’ notice before we suspend or terminate your access, and we will tell you why. You can ask us to review the decision at support@getije.com

  5. (v)

    If your access is suspended or ends, or a community is closed: (a) we will stop future scheduled collections; (b) payments already in progress will be completed or reversed as needed; and (c) where the law allows, you will be able to export your community’s contribution records for [60] days.

  6. (vi)

    We handle your data on closure as set out in our Privacy Policy. Where community records need to be kept, we will replace your name and contact details with a reference wherever we can.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, non-infringement and uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that contributions will be made, that members will honour their commitments, that goals will be reached, or that records entered by users are accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

14.1 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for anything the law does not allow us to limit, or for any right you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

14.2 Subject to 14.1, Nexora is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, savings, goodwill or opportunity.

14.3 Subject to 14.1, Nexora’s total liability to you for all claims relating to the Services in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Nexora in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) ₦100,000.

14.4 Nexora is not responsible for disputes between community members, or for any Community Admin’s or member’s failure to pay or to make a payout.

14.5 Nexora’s directors, employees, affiliates and partners may rely on this clause. Nexora holds the benefit of it for them.

15. Indemnity

If you are a Community Admin or an organisation, you agree to indemnify Nexora against third-party claims, and the reasonable losses and legal costs that follow from them, to the extent they arise from: (a) your breach of clause 7; (b) your breach of the law or of anyone’s rights; or (c) your submitting personal data or content without the permission or lawful basis you need. This does not apply to the extent a claim arises from Nexora’s breach, negligence or wilful misconduct. Nexora will tell you promptly about any claim and will cooperate reasonably in its defence.

If you are a member who is not a Community Admin, you are responsible to Nexora only for loss that Nexora suffers because of your fraud or your deliberate breach of clause 7.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. It is separate from these Terms and does not form part of the contract between us. Accepting these Terms is not consent to any processing that needs your separate consent. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice by email or in the Services. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes. If you do not agree, you may close your account before the changes take effect sooner.

18. Governing law and disputes

18.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

18.2 If you have a complaint, please contact us at support@getije.com first. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

18.3 Individual users. If a complaint is not resolved, you may refer it to mediation at the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse, or bring a claim in the courts of Lagos State, or in any other court the law allows you to use. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to complain to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or any other regulator.

18.4 Community Admins and organisations. Any dispute that is not resolved under 19.2 will be referred to mediation. If the mediation does not resolve it within 30 days, it will be finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023. The seat of arbitration is Lagos, the language is English, and there will be one arbitrator, appointed by agreement or, failing agreement, by the Lagos Multi Door Court House. The arbitration is confidential.
